This is a thank you note to our donors & supporters whose faith in us and kind suport have made it possible for Omar Niode Foundation to carry out activities related to agriculture, food and culinary arts.

We are pleased to inform you that over the last 12 months the Omar Niode Foundation had a number of events to support its Programs. 

Our volunteer bloggers penned 110 blog posts for www.omarniode.org published during April – December 2012. As stated on our website we cover local and international food events, workshops and seminars, interviews, policies, initiatives, opinions, recipes, books & restaurant reviews and many more. We participated in a number of events either as organizer, speaker, exhibitor or sponsor. Through these national and international events we were able to introduce Omar Niode Foundation, establish networks and collaborate for more meaningful activities.

We allocated funds for 15 thesis scholarships for undergraduate students and 3 travel awards to defray costs in attending international meetings in Thailand, UK and Argentina.

In addition to our regular charitable contribution to Baitul Qur’an Orphanage, we donated almost 500 books on the topic of food science, culinary, agriculture, farming and cooking to Gorontalo University.

We published three books with a plan for launching them in February 2013.

Produksi Pertanian dan Pangan Berbasis Kawasan dan Lingkungan. (Agriculture & Food Production Based on Regions and Environment). A compendium of articles by Gorontalo  researchers and well known national and international scholars.

Food Science and Technology. A Festschrift for Omar Taraki Niode M.Sc. A compilation of papers from alumni of University of California Davis and IPB Bogor Agricultural University.

50 Appetizing Snippets. Agriculture, Food and Culinary Muse. A collection of selected blog posts from www.omarniode.org showcasing the endless opportunities in the arena of agriculture, food and culinary arts.
