One of the highlights of Patali (Market) Day was the food tasting and live tweeting session where audience tasted artisan delicacies plus selected manufactured foods and live tweeted their impressions.
Proficiently leading the event were Gery Puraatmadja and Foodtective Ade Putri, both are the hosts of Food for Fun, a weekly program at FeMale Radio 97.9 FM. Food for Fun currently has more than 16,000 Likers on its Facebook Page.
The following food and drink artisans and companies were carefully selected by Patali (Market) Day organizers to share their passion of promoting Indonesian food products and services:
1. Arnott’s Indonesia – Tim Tam Chocolate Biscuits
PT Arnott’s Indonesia offices are situated on the East side of the city in Bekasi. The company manufactures a variety of biscuits, owning brands such as Tim Tam and Good Time Choc chip cookies and Nyam Nyam and supports Australia with Vita Weat Rice Crackers and Pepperidgefarm with Pirouette. In the high season the Factory employs up to 3000 people a day.
2. Beyond Treats - Cupcakes

3. Dapur Mama Thia - Nasi Kepel
Singer Cynthia Lamusu and film star Surya Saputra, Indonesia’s power couple in the entertainment industry combined their culinary strengths and started Dapur Mama Thia. Mama Thia’s Kitchen offers nasi kepel (banana leaf-wrapped rice) and ready to eat foods, through its twitter handle @dapurmamathia. Dapur Mama Thia offers side dishes, mostly based on Indonesian recipes from Betawi, Java and Gorontalo passed down from generation to generation.
4. Honocoro - Jamu Ice Cream
Honocoro Community was initiated by Retno Widati based on the philosophy that there is always a way to resolve every problem. This community is engaged in humanitarian, cultural and environmental causes. The emphasis is on education to change one's mindset to a more positive direction for a better life together. Because it does not have a standardized organizational structure, the Honocoro Community can be flexible in its every activity.
5. JAVARA™ - Sagon Bakar
JAVARA™ is the product brand of PT. Kampung Kearifan Indonesia (KKI), a social enterprise established in 2008 working to promote sustainable agriculture and apply that benefits the farmers, small producers and the consumers. Mona Melani Djamal who was born and raised in Gorontalo and currently resides in Jakarta tries to preserve Kue Perahu (boat cakes) a traditional snack named after its shape. Kue Perahu is made from palm sugar, coconut milk, young coconut slices and pandan leaves as boat shaped containers.
