We have been blogging for four years and always delighted to reread the 288 blog posts penned since 2012. In 2015 we logged in 28 articles, not as much as the previous years, but it had been a very productive year as indicated by 45 press coverage and blog mentions we received.
In March 2015 our nominee Asriani who works at BKPPIJ (Gorontalo Food Resilience Agency and Corn Information Center) was selected as a Maize super Woman by CIMMYT, the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center based in Mexico. Our communications with CIMMYT continues resulting in a publication of Binthe Biluhuta, Gorontalo traditional corn soup, in its publication A Grain a Day.
June 2015 saw the publication of Trailing the Taste of Gorontalo, a collection of pleasure, satisfaction, zest, and curiosity about the City of Gorontalo written by our friends. The book is now available on Amazon Kindle.
We organized and participated in 18 food events and traveled to several cities in Indonesia as well as abroad to Manila, Venice, London, New York and Paris. The Online Food Travel Summit organized by the World Food Travel Association where we spoke was a huge success attracting global visitors from 24 countries.
A surprising highlight came nearest the end of the year when The Omar Niode Foundation received a certificate of recognition from Venture Travel Magazine for its efforts in promoting Gorontalo as an emerging food tourism destination. Venture is a print and digital travel magazine with frank writing, experiential travel tales, and eye-popping photography.
